Cheltenham 2026 Musings
Hey peeps,
I thought I would start jotting down some thoughts for my lovely followers. Please feel free to hit me up on socials with any questions on any of this or anything else!
There has been a lot going on in my life and in the racing world but we’ll cover Cheltenham for now.
Drama a plenty with the news we have seen Constitution Hill for the last time over an obstacle. Selfishly I hoped this would be the case. I was very worried about him falling again on the biggest stage of them all, and what that looks like to the general public and in racing itself. There were a few shots fired my way via socials about my view of a) thinking he wouldn’t run and b) not wanting him to
It was never our decision of course but there is nothing
wrong with some healthy debate and respectful arguments, something many on X
don’t seem to be very good at.
The connections were always going to make the best decision for the horse. I had the pleasure of interviewing Michael Buckley (his owner) and Nicky Henderson straight after his win on the flat and their feelings towards the horse were highly visible. Their gratefulness for how much the public has been drawn to their horse was clear. I am looking forward to seeing what they do on the flat with him as there are a lot of provisos of where and when he‘ll run. It will be very ground-dependant based on what the connections have told us.
There were also small whispers going around that Narciso Has
of J P Mccanus’s wouldn’t go to the festival and the news broke the very next
day, he’d had a setback and would not run. He was lots of people’s idea of a
winner and in many people’s multiples.
I will be doing previews and selections on my socials in the coming days so if that’s of interest, please do keep a look out.
I shall be at Cheltenham on Gold Cup day for William Hill, which I am very much looking forward to.
Fashion is always a big deal at all the big racing festivals but I have to say the winter ones are always a treat. You can be super comfortable and warm as well as looking very smart. I have got some fabulous brands that are kind enough to send me outfits for these events. This year shall be a Holland Cooper Gold Cup day outfit for me, which I am very excited about and looking forward to showing you all.
I must add that over the years I’ve found that hat hires are a really good, cheaper way of having a fabulous headpiece and I’ve also worn clothes / hats etc from either Vinted or charity shops. You just have to spend a bit of time rummaging around looking for statement pieces to then work around, you don’t need hundreds of pounds to get a suitable oufit for summer or winter racing.
Cheltenham advice:
- Wrap up warm it’s no fun being cold!
- Get yourself down to the paddock, it’s a fabulous viewing track at Cheltenham
- Selection wise - have a little look for Irish horses in these big field handicaps that have been running well and placing in Ireland (hard races), and they’ll be good each-way prices for those extra place races with bookmakers
What would you like to talk about next guys and gals??
Ciao for now

Good read! 😁. I think you should talk about the the Grand National and challenge yourself to identify the top horses from each country for the race; i.e. 1 from Scotland, 1 from Ireland, 1 from France, 1 from England etc.. Then talk about being the best dressed presenter on telly! 😁
