Lions and tigers and bears …. Oh my !! Ok, well not quite those animals that were present on our holidays, but there were plenty of others! Zebras, giraffes, water buffalos, many, many, many monkeys and baboons (last seen trying to get into our rooms pulling all the door handles, we were warned!) Warthogs, all different types of gazelle,s hippos and crocodiles. Lake Mburo national park was a once in a lifetime experience - the amount of animals living happily side by side was unreal. They introduced a breeding programme in 2015 which saw 10 giraffes brought in and there are now well over 100. We were lucky enough to see a 2-month-old baby giraffe, as well as many other young animals. They have also made more water sources for the wildlife as they had a really bad draught a few years ago that affected the park badly. 5 new watering holes in total have been created there.
