Lions and tigers and bears …. Oh my !!

Ok, well not quite those animals that were present on our holidays, but there were plenty of others!

Zebras, giraffes, water buffalos, many, many, many monkeys and baboons (last seen trying to get into our rooms pulling all the door handles, we were warned!)

Warthogs, all different types of gazelle,s hippos and crocodiles.

Lake Mburo national park was a once in a lifetime experience - the amount of animals living happily side by side was unreal.

They introduced a breeding programme in 2015 which saw 10 giraffes brought in and there are now well over 100. We were lucky enough to see a 2-month-old baby giraffe, as well as many other young animals. They have also made more water sources for the wildlife as they had a really bad draught a few years ago that affected the park badly.

5 new watering holes in total have been created there.

The hippos were a real highlight as well as the crocodiles which we saw whilst on a boat ride along with many gorgeous species of birds.

You can check out my socials for pictures and videos of some of the above and more -

·       Cycling through the national park with zebras

·       Horse riding safari

·       Tubing on the nile

The two gorgeous lodges we stayed in were also a particular highlight. Everyone we came across whilst in Uganda was very friendly and helpful in any way that they could be.

So I’m definitely banging the drum of a place people should try and experience when and where possible. It is also not what I’d call super touristy or instgrammed to the hilt YET. Which of course in turn means it comes with a price tag that’s much lower to do all the amazing things we got to experience.

Teddy had an amazing time on his first ‘big’ holiday. He was a star on the plane and the staff were really helpful towards families and babies so a shout out to Turkish airlines for being fabulous.

Workwise we are on the cusp of the height of the summer races with the classics having started at the weekend. So looking forward to some racing in the sunshine for sure

And I’ll be on the screens plenty with Sky and ITV which I’m really looking forward to.

I also have something in the pipeline with a particularly pretty northern racecourse that will be starting in the next month. You’ll have to wait to find out about that one though.

To go with all the tv work and the new work opportunity coming up on course I have a few new lovely brands who’ve been either loaning or gifting me clothes, so they’ll be mentioned in the next few blogs too.

And of course I’ll still be looking for bargains to finish off outfits from vinted and charity shops like I always have (love a bargain)

I will be working more closely in the coming months with Racing to School as well

Helping educate and open the eyes to the next generation of all the opportunities there are in racing for those who want to go down that avenue. I really love that so many schools are open to helping get people down this career path, it is now recognised on the curriculum – how cool is that?

As always feel free to message with any questions or suggestions for future blogs

Sending sunny vibes
